Googoosh's NEW Album: "Last News"

3/2/04--I thank God for giving me and my fellow artists the ability to offer this album of 8 new songs to fans of Iranian music of the day.

During the years of exile, I often wondered of I ever ought to pursue new music again? Even though I was one of the best of the best of Iranian music. I wondered that after having such an early career, and with the crazy world of Iranian music outside of Iran, what I should do.

So I decided to take the plunge!

After many years, I have once again connected with one of the pillars of new music, Shahyar Ghanbari, and my good childhood friend. His beautiful songs shine brighter than ever.

Manouchehr Cheshmazar, another partner from my past, has gifted me with some of the most beautiful arrangements that I can remember. Babak Amini, another young artist has helped me greatly. Zoya Zakarian with her lovely songwriting, Andy G with his youth and new style arrangements, Martik, with his kindness and beautiful voice, and Kambiz, my dear son all helped me greatly to deliver this album.

And finally, Mehrdad Assemani, the well talented singer/songwriter, and new found friend, who tirelessly worked on virtually all aspects of the album, mixing, arranging, taping, and selecting music, made this album possible.

I would also like to thank Mehrdad Pakravan from Caltex, who spared nothing to help amke the album a reality.

The song, Ahoouye Eshg (Deer of Love), is dedicated to my always faithful fans in Tajikestan, and the Farsi speaking Afghans, and I offer this to them for their undying devotion and kindness.

I hope it will be acceptable.

2/03 -- Hello, hugs and kisses to all my fans all around this wonderful world! I have been thinking about some way to express my gratitude to all of you who have supported me in my career. The internet seems to be a good way to do it.

A thousand thanks to my generation who stuck by me all of these years and knew me back when I was a young singer starting out in Tehran. And to the newer generation whose mothers and fathers sang my songs to them as babies, you make me feel younger and younger each time I see you singing my songs back to me in the crowd!

After my first concert tour in 20 years, you can imagine I was a bit overwhelmed! Adjusting to a renewed career, a new culture and frankly a new life I never dreamed I would have.I am getting the hang of it though, and soon hope to visiting you in your towns and cities with a new tour for my upcoming album.
